BMW R71 Reproduction Model 750 At the end of WW2, the BMW motorcycle factory in Berlin was captured by the Russians. Russia was also producing these motorcycles for their own use. They crated up the entire factory and moved it back to Russia to augment their own production capability. Later, they sold this equipment for making the R71 to the Chinese and these bikes are still produced to this day albeit with a few modern conveniences like 12-volt electrical, and 4-speed operation with reverse. The pictures reproduction is shown with approved lighting and turn-signal equipment for licensed street operation. With a few minor modifications the original wartime appearance is easily restored, making these ideal for reenactment use. The example shown is painted in panzer grey.
